Vaccinations

You may have heard the saying, “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Similarly in veterinary medicine, we believe that the best way to stop disease is to prevent it entirely. Not only do vaccinations help keep your pet safe, they help keep the community of pets and owners safe. At Shirley Veterinary Hospital, we want your pets to stay as happy and healthy as possible.

By vaccinating your pet, you are limiting the potential for them to contract certain contagious diseases and potentially spread them to other pets. Your veterinarian may modify or suggest a varied vaccination schedule or type, but listed below are the vaccinations we typically recommend for your dog or cat.

Dogs
Rabies (required by federal law), Distemper, Parvo, Parainfluenza, Lyme, Leptospirosis, Adenovirus Type I and II, and Coronavirus

Cats
Rabies (required by federal law), Feline rhinotracheitis virus, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia, and leukemia.
